Doug is currently on the board of Creekside Creative Academy, secretary to the board. This is the private school located in Notre Dame Plaza.
He has previously been on the local, provincial and national boards of Trout Unlimited Canada. I previously served on the provincial advisory committee for Junior Forest Wardens of Alberta.
He retired from Nexen Inc in 2011 leaving the position of Site Manager of the East Al Harj oil field in Yemen. He also did a short contract in Madagascar in 2012 for another oil company.
He is a certified level 2 referee for pickleball, able to referee in Canada and the USA. He is also currently the Project Manager for expansion of the Red Deer Pickleball Club facilities.
